Once that happens, new parts will be posted on HFY and RedditSerials, alongside my main subreddit as they become available. Thank you for reading, and enjoy. Previous Part. Part 001) Upon awakening, my eyes flutter open, and a yawn escapes my mouth. I gaze at the ceiling for several seconds as memories of the previous day enter my mind. After being chased by monsters and stumbling onto a magical orb of light, I was so exhausted that I slept like an anvil. Not even a marching band with a full orchestra could have woken me up. Without thinking, I turn my head to the left and wince as the brilliant light from my orb blinds me. "Gah. After a few seconds, my eyes adjust to its light. When I pick up the orb, I notice it feels much colder than it did yesterday. Most likely, I've finally recovered from the cryogenic sickness that stole my sense of touch away. Compared to how disoriented I felt when I fell asleep, I feel like a new man. My eyes linger on the orb. I squint mightily and pull it closer to peer inside of it. I don't believe it's an object that can be described by science. It gives me abilities that are beyond human. It must be some legendary S-Tier item, but I haven't a clue where it comes from. The closer I look, the more details I'm able to pick out. Inside the orb are hundreds, thousands, perhaps even millions of microscopic life forms. Like worms, racing in all directions, the minute organisms zip around, moving to and fro, and their excitement increases the closer I stare. A feeling in my body makes me pull the orb away. A strange sound, like that of a gnat, buzzes in my ear. I swat at it, but the noise stays and coalesces into something more akin to a voice. The voice is a whisper in my ear. I can barely make out a single word. you. It continues speaking, and I strain to hear it. "Who are you. The voice clears up and speaks directly to me. The timbre is that of a middle-aged man, deep, and full of knowledge. He's experienced many things in his life, yet there's also an animalistic growl in his voice, as if he's merged with the consciousness of an animal spirit. "Me? I'm Jason Hiro. I'm a time traveler, I suppose. I answer the voice, figuring it must be coming from the orb. Seems plausible. The voice doesn't respond, and the energy from the orb dissipates, leaving me wondering who it was. Perhaps the mysterious man was satisfied with my answer. Maybe I'll never know. I climb off the dusty bed and twitch my nose in disgust at my clothes. They're still covered in the flaky debris from the cryopod, as am I. My body feels gross, but until now, I haven't had my wits about me. Figuring it's worth a shot, I speak a single word to nobody in particular. Clean. As expected, my T-shirt, jeans, and underwear instantly change and become as clean as if I had tossed them in a washer and dryer for an hour. I repeat the process, but for my body, and smile as I also end up as clean as if I had just climbed out of the shower. Heck, I feel completely refreshed! I take a moment to reorient myself, then glance at the several cold slices of pizza leftover from earlier. Should I eat them? Nah. With my power, I shouldn't stoop to eating leftovers. Pizza. Once again, a sumptuous pie materializes in midair and lands atop the previous box. I don't hesitate before diving into a second meal. Pizza is my favorite food. Even before I entered college, I tried to eat it as often as possible. It only takes me a few minutes to eat most of the food. After I finish, I rub my stomach and ponder the meaning of life for a moment. Then, I direct my gaze to the leftovers. If I leave this food behind, I'll be putting myself in unnecessary danger. The smell of leftovers might attract those monsters. I'd prefer it if they never find out I was here. Erase. With a single word, I eradicate the existence of the pizza and banish it to the shadow realm. Several seconds pass as I contemplate how I can figure out my powers without any trouble. Eventually, I shrug and jump to my feet. I can't stay here forever. Even if this place looks abandoned, a monster might stumble in here by complete accident. I would be much safer if I could locate other humans. Surely I can't be the only person left alive, right? A minute later, I step out of the facility and hold the glowing orb close to my chest, allowing it to light my path. It doesn't take long before I arrive back in the El-Dorado treasure room and decide to head down a different passageway. I have no idea where the other two lead to, but if the storage facility is a dead-end, and if the place I originally entered from leads back to the statue monster, I'll take my chances with one of the other two passages. As I travel along, I slowly realize I've entered familiar territory. The walls of the Labyrinth are earthen again, and the glowing rocks appear to have vanished. The hallway continues for at least a few miles before opening into a series of corridors and doors. Something about the place gives me the creeps. It resembles a prison. A dozen doors line the right wall, and at the end of the row is another entrance, far bigger than the rest. I walk up to the nearest one and shove it. Unlike every other door until to now, this one doesn't budge. I push harder and shove with all my strength, but it still won't move. Finally, I press my back against it, and grunt out loud, Okay, orb! I need your strength! Give me the power to open this goddamn doo. My words cut off abruptly as it suddenly yanks inward, making me stumble back and slam onto the ground. My spine screams in pain, but after a few moments, I breathe a little easier and pull myself to my feet. Only, this time, I freeze in horror. What awaits me is. no. I don't want to believe it. At the back of the room, there's a cryopod, identical to the one I left. It's broken and torn to pieces. The walls are covered in blood. The room yawns before me. The smell of iron forces me to stifle my gag reflex, and chunks of pizza threaten to crawl back up my throat. The sight inside of this room makes me never want to eat meat again. The smell of death is thick, though not fresh. Much of the blood is hardened, crusty, and brown. If someone were to try and clean the room, they would need a paint scraper, and it'd be a hell of a job. The corpse torn to pieces and scattered all over the place is unrecognizable and desiccated. Whatever killed them, it happened a long time ago. The cryopod looks like something smashed through the window on the front and tore the occupant out with force. Saying a quick prayer for their soul, I quickly step back out of the room and lean against the hallway door, and my breathing arrives in shallow gasps. If that room housed one of the other cryopod occupants, then that can only mean. I don't want to check, but I have to. The room next door is in a similar situation. A violent murder, under the same circumstances, begins to reveal a pattern. I can barely make out long, blonde hair on a severed head across the room, but I don't want to go anywhere near the corpse. I quickly check the other chambers and find a similar situation in the third, fourth, and fifth doors. The sixth, however, is different. Inside, the cryopod is intact, and opened up. Whoever was inside must have escaped, since there isn't a horrible bloody mess to be seen anywhere. There's a journal on the floor, placed directly in the center of the room, laying in such a way that anyone walking in the room would see it immediately, and it's facing the door, so they'd know to pick it up. While it feels like this is a booby trap, curiosity is my weakness, so I creep over and nudge the book with my foot. No Indiana Jones-style boulders come rolling at me, so it's probably safe. I quickly snatch the journal up and retreat to the hallway, my heart a pounding mess. The first page has some writing, so I carefully read its contents. Date: Unknown. Location: Unknown. Mental state: Hopeless. My body is weak. I haven't eaten anything since I emerged from cryostasis, and if I don't find something soon, I'm going to die. I'm ready. I have to accept it. I always wanted to grow old and die in my sleep, but that isn't going to happen. Anya and Faraday were my friends. That thing, the monster. Gressil. It took them. Their screams were awful. What a horrible way to go. Waking up, the jaws of a demon tearing them to pieces before they even have a chance to fight back, and all they could do was let out pitiful screams. I don't want to go out like them. I have to try and escape, or die trying. If I can stab it once, before it kills me, I'll at least have my revenge. Well, it's about time. My body's getting weaker. If I don't go now, I won't ever be able to leave. If only I could see my daughter again. just one more time. Amy. I'm sorry, sweetheart. I hope Cryotek's payout helped you. I hope you lived a good life, but. daddy won't be coming home after all. I deserve what's coming. After reading it, I flip to the next page. Only two words are legible. Umi watches. Over and over, but the handwriting style is different. It's much more feminine. Perhaps someone else found the notebook and scrawled the words? Every page has the same words repeated. A hundred times per page. The further through the notebook I flip, the more frantic the words become. Silently, I set the notebook on the floor where I found it, and say yet another prayer. I don't know what happened to that man, but I hope he eventually found peace. As I leave the room, I spin those two foreboding words around in my head, like marshmallows over a fire. Looking back on things now, I've felt that same sensation of eyes tracking me everywhere I go. Is it just my imagination? Paranoid delusions from the ever-present darkness shrouding the Labyrinth? The final rooms hold no surprises. Apparently, only one man managed to escape without the monster tearing him to pieces. I offer more prayers for the fallen and sigh. I'm not even a religious person, and in fact, I'm something of an atheist, yet now I find myself wishing a god existed to save people from this hellish nightmare. Finally, only one door is left; the one opposite from where I started. Whatever waits for me on the other side, hopefully my trusty Orb of Light can protect me. The door slides open easily as I press it inward. For a moment, confusion overtakes me as I look around the room. These give way to terror and panic once I realize why it seems so familiar. A cryopod rests against the far wall. I quickly walk over to it and examine it, spotting an open hatch on the back. Jerking my head to the left, I spot a second closed door. The other Cryopod rooms didn't have any entrances other than the main lobby, but this room does. I'm in my original Cryopod room. But the door that I just entered through was not here before. The Labyrinth is shifting dynamically. The idea makes no sense, but neither does shooting light out of my hands or my sudden ability to summon pizzas. If my theory is right, then I have a few options. First, I can return to the El-Dorado room and pass through the final door I missed. Second, I can travel past the statue monster room and go back to the giant door, hoping the smaller door on the right from earlier will take me somewhere new. Third, I can try and use my abilities to shove open the supermassive door instead. I doubt that's doable. If these are my options, then the choice is simple; no way am I going to take a chance with statue monsters! I'd like my innards to stay inside my body, thank you very much. Turning around, I leave my cryopod room behind and head back through the cryopod chambers toward the El-Dorado room. However, my heart sinks. The long corridor back is gone. As expected, the Labyrinth has shifted. I guessed correctly. I cautiously and silently sneak around, checking this passage and that. Dozens of doors greet me. I don't open them. After a few minutes of wandering around, I stop and listen. A sound of feet pattering approaches. Two pairs, in fact. It won't take long before whoever, or whatever is approaching spots the light from my orb. "Oy, Tvoorik! Didn't ya notice? Them doors was open. What idiot leaves the doors open. English. I recognize their words. The speaker's voice doesn't sound human, however. His timbre reminds me of a wolf's growl. I quickly whisper to my orb. Dim. Its light dissipates to nearly nothing, allowing me to see a flickering of torchlight approaching. I duck around a corner and hide behind a wall outcropping, making myself as tiny as possible while hiding the orb in my shirt. Another voice replies. "Are ya kiddin' Ylvusk? Ain't nobody dumb enough to leave a door open 'round these parts. Gressil'd kill us. The footsteps draw closer. My heart smashes around in my chest like a pack of rats trying to escape. As long as the voices walk straight down the corridor, they won't see me. "Yeah, but this place is the Popsicle Block. I thought only one fool was still left in 'ere. My eyes widen as the two beings appear, one of them holding a torch. Imps. I've read enough fantasy to know the difference between various monsters when I see them. They are, without a doubt, not humans. Their short little bodies, perhaps three feet tall, waddle along, and their fat eyes roll around in their heads. Bright red skin, wispy hair, and two tiny little horns give me all the other visual cues I need to fit the puzzle pieces together. They're demons! The two imps stop and sniff. Tvoorik speaks; a hint of wariness in his voice. "You ever wonder what Gressil does with 'is victims? I bet he lets 'em go. You know how Gressil is. Oh, come on. Ylvusk groans. "Keep your conspiracies to yourself. Nah, nah, I'm serious. Tvoorik continues. "He's been offin' the popsicles one by one over the last few years. But I got ta' thinkin. what if he wasn't offin' em, eh? What if he was faking everything? Putting on an act. Ylvusk's expression turns sour. Why would Gressil do that. Dunno! I'm just thinkin' out loud, ya know? Don't tell me you don't have any doubts. I don't. Ylvusk says, shaking his head. "Shut your trap and keep walking. We've got three more patrols to do before we earn our allotment for the day. Psh. You know that's just how the higher-ups keep us in line, don'tcha? It's the ol' carrot and stick treatment. I read about it in a book once. Oh, stuff it, ya stupid knob! I know you ain't never read a book in your whole life! Don't throw the shrakh all over me just 'cause it works on the other dummies. I'm serious. And I'm a succubus! Come on, move it along! I ain't got all day to listen to your globberin. The two imps continue walking down the hallway. I hold my breath the entire time until their voices fade into the distance. Once I can't hear their voices anymore, I sneak down several hallways, taking random directions as I try to find a way out of this labyrinthine series of passages. The different hallways blend together. Soon, the glowing rocks appear once again, illuminating different paths. Suddenly, I arrive somewhere completely unexpected. A massive chamber, over one hundred feet square, holds a statue of a young girl with an umbrella. While she raises it above her head, gold-colored water bubbles up from the top of it and drips down, barely missing her body. Thousands of flowers surround her, but the ones closest to her lay withered and dead. The look on her face is that of acceptance. She's seen things in her life, things she couldn't help. Her eyes are young, yet worn out, tired of a fear-filled existence. Most importantly, she's human and not a misshapen monster. The realization that the only humans I've found in this Labyrinth were statues and corpses fills me with dread. A giant golden door across the room catches my attention, but I ignore it. Something about the girl pulls my eyes to her. The closer I walk to her, the more I notice that the flowers, choked and withered though they are, slowly grow back as the light from my orb touches them. This effect is more muted as I walk nearer to the statue and discover why. In the girl's other hand, the one not holding the umbrella, she clutches a black orb. Unlike mine, hers sucks the light in around it. An orb of life, and an orb of death. The two are opposites. One drains life; the other breathes consciousness back into the world. I don't want to go anywhere near that orb of darkness. Everything about it screams danger. If I were the protagonist in an action movie, it would surely be the ultimate final weapon of a villain. "Why, hello there. A voice speaks up from somewhere in the room. I drop to a crouching position to make myself a smaller target as I look around. Nobody else is here. "Come, now. Don't be rude. The voice continues, and now I realize it isn't speaking to me audibly, but inside my mind. "Who's speaking? What do you want. I answer the voice, and turn uneasily to the orb. It can't be. A face appears in my mind, one of a man shrouded in darkness. He smiles, and the whites of his teeth spread open, just below the fire burning inside his eyes. "What do I want? No. What do you want? Speak truth. I consider his question for all of three seconds, before standing back up to my full height. "I'd kill for another pizza. Next Part.

Welcome to our first Fandom Friday! As we said last week, we want to use these slots to help support some of the fine content creators brightening up The Witcher community. If you'd be interested in featuring in a Fandom Friday or have a suggestion for someone who could, you can send over a modmail or a Twitter DM to let us know. We're aiming to do one of these every two weeks. So, first up. GoodMorhen's Breakfast in Beauclair. Breakfast in Beauclair is the new podcast from GoodMorhen, whom you may know from her fantastic edits on Instagram. She's now expanding that empire to the land of podcasting, with the first episode releasing earlier this week and analysing The Witcher short story! Could this podcast help tide you over in the painful wait for the show to air? Who are some of the fantastic guests that will be appearing? What inspired this new project? Read on and find out 🐺 GoodMorhen Instagram Breakfast in Beauclair website r/thehanza Listen: Episode one of Breakfast in Beauclair Apply to be a guest Breakfast in Beauclair: A global Witcher podcast 1. To start, tell us a bit about yourself and how you got into The Witcher. First of all—hi! I'm Alyssa from GoodMorhen and the one-woman show behind Breakfast in Beauclair. My gateway into The Witcher Universe was Witcher III: Wild Hunt. I grew up in the US on a steady diet of immersive, open-world video games such as Harvest Moon, Sly Cooper, and Ezio's Assassin's Creed trilogy. What drew me to Wild Hunt was the story and depth of the lore, the opportunity to explore a branching plot, and the inclusion of thoughtful details like beard growth and currency conversion. By day, I'm a product designer who creates apps and websites and I had an absolute geek meltdown when I saw CDPR update the user experience of their inventory menus during my playthrough. Also, duh, Gwent and the absolute bop that is "A Story You Won't Believe. Iconic. I'm still waiting on club remixes of the entire Gwent soundtrack. Even though I didn't understand a lot of Geralt's backstory in that first playthrough, CDPR's take on the Witcher fit perfectly into my personal canon of games and primed me for a dive into the source material. 2. What motivated you to get active in the fandom and become a content creator (as @goodmorhen) for this community? Although my entry to The Continent was through the games, I fell in love with The Witcher through the book series. The prose was captivating—even in the English translation, yes, I know, please don't flay me in the comments—and I admired the way Sapkowski wove a massive ensemble cast of characters into a unified tapestry and world. GoodMorhen was originally "Good Morning, Kaer Morhen" a Witcher podcast concept. Fun fact: my brother cleverly gave me the suggestion to truncate it to "GoodMorhen" when I was looking for a short enough Twitter handle for "Good Morning, Kaer Morhen. It brings me infinite amounts of joy to hear the pun translates well into a few other languages! This time last year, I didn't know anyone personally who had heard of or read The Witcher Saga and there were no local resources to realize a podcast. I shelved the idea and pivoted, focusing on something I could do independently that still analyzed the text, which is how GoodMorhen was created as you know it today. I noticed the biggest Witcher accounts, on Instagram specifically, were mostly in -game screenshots and photography. As much as I loved the games, I wanted something about the books and I wanted something free of CDPR's visual language and character designs, which is when I decided to source 18th to 20th century etchings and line illustrations to enhance Sapkowski's work. Fast forward a year later, I feel incredibly fortunate to have met so many wonderful people through GoodMorhen and this community. Introversion and introspection have been a core part of the GoodMorhen brand identity, but I'm an extrovert at heart who looks forward to taking a very social approach to this next project, Breakfast in Beauclair. 3. What can fans expect from Breakfast in Beauclair? What sort of guests do you have lined up? In Breakfast in Beauclair, a global Witcher podcast, our international hanza will travel around the world with our guests for varied and interesting points of view on The Witcher Universe from new readers, hardcore fans, and other Witcher content creators. Our lineup of guests is outstanding—I'm looking forward to introducing them to you though this new medium! The first thirteen episodes are a chapter-by-chapter analysis of the short stories. Witcher content creators who appear include Charlotte of Vengerberg Glamarye from the US, Anita and Karolina of Witcher Kitchen from Poland, and Lars of WitcherFlix from Germany. Along with the five episodes those content creators will guest, three more will be with existing fans, and five episodes will be with new readers. An Open Call for Episode Guests: I'm looking for more guests to cover the Netflix episodes and the saga! 15-30 minute phone interviews will be held for interested individuals around October 2019. If you're interested, fill out this form and I'll reach out in September/October! 4. A beloved member of the fandom, witcherflix aka Lars, is contributing to your podcast. What can you tell us about the news segment hell be providing? Yes! The GOAT! I knew my personal focus and interest was the books, but I wanted to incorporate the Netflix series to the, then unnamed, podcast. I decided early on that it would be best for the fandom and the podcast if I tapped someone who specialized in news surrounding the television series rather than trying to do it all myself. Lars was the first Witcher content creator I befriended through the GoodMorhen Instagram last Fall and I knew that if anyone could do this segment and do an outstanding job of it, it would be him. If you're unfamiliar with his work, Lars has been producing daily (daily. posts about the upcoming Netflix series since December 2017. Wild. He's an absolute rockstar and I've admired his consistency and dedication to the fandom. He's such a pleasure to work with and I'm incredibly fortunate to be partnering with him. Each episode, Lars will contribute a mid-episode news segment, Tidings from Toussaint" which will summarize key updates surrounding the Netflix series. Whether it's casting rumors, plot developments, or events and awards, Lars has it covered! 5. What are your plans with Breakfast in Beauclair once the show airs? I finally rest, and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe. Kidding. There's no such thing rest once the show airs. (RIP, me. Following the first thirteen podcast episodes, which cover the events of The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, we'll go through Netflix's first season episode-by-episode before jumping back into the books with Blood of Elves. We'll cross the Netflix bridge when we get there, but, as I said, I'll be looking for guests to watch and discuss the episodes with me! 6. If you could get anyone from the cast or crew as a guest on your podcast, who would it be and why? If it was just one: Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich! I'd love the opportunity to talk about the vision for the show; her perception of the deep-rooted values that drive each character; the challenges, successes, and failures behind-the-scenes; forks in the production road; and the character choices that the actors have made in bringing The Witcher to life. On the cast side, I'd want to host Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra. I'm sure this show will change their lives and I think it'd be amazing to speak with them on the brink of their next adventure. Seriously though, if anyone involved in production would be open discussing a chapter with me and ending with a spoiler-free interview. ya girl's got a guest inquiry form. 7. Whos your favorite Witcher character and what are you most looking forward to seeing adapted in the series? Milva is, hands down, my favorite Witcher character. Without spoilers, she's appears from the third book in the saga, Baptism of Fire, through the last book, Lady of the Lake. I admire her for her independence, compassion, strength, and vulnerability. Milva embodies this beautiful dichotomy between perceived strength and perceived vulnerability, between confidence and insecurity. Although we get many examples throughout the books, I think her character arc exemplifies the themes of found family and found purpose central to The Witcher Saga. Milva, by JustAnoR I'm most looking forward to seeing Badass, Complex Female Characters like Milva, Yennefer, Ciri, and Queens Calanthe and Meve adapted in the series. I'm excited to meet Geralt's Company for the first time. And—as much as I can't stomach most televised battle scenes—I hope we get to see the Battle of the Bridge and the Battle of Brenna. (If it's not 9000% obvious, Baptism of Fire is my favorite book in the entire series and possibly—unapologetically—of all time. 8. There's a lot of fantasy out there—what do you think sets The Witcher apart? The Witcher is high fantasy, but it's approachable. It's very human. Sapkowski's dexterity as a writer really shines in character development and dialogue. Despite the complexity of the plot and the expansive, fantastical nature of the world, we, as readers, never lose sight of the questions of morality that drive the events on The Continent. No matter if it's a king or spy, an elf or a vampire, a witcher or witcher-girl, everyone grapples with their own code of ethics. Everyone lives with the consequences of their actions; and, in Sapkowski's writing, those choices and actions feel authentic to the characters' core values. Another aspect of The Witcher Universe I admire is how Sapkowski leverages his ensemble cast. There are plenty of scenes and chapters that none of the main characters appear in and they always enhance the reader's understanding of the greater world and lore. A notable example of this is the character Toruviel, an elf. Throughout all seven books, she appears only a brief handful of times, but manages to have an entire developed character arc. Lastly, The Witcher series has its moments of hilarity, cleverness, and snark from both the characters and narrator; I've genuinely laughed out loud reading it. For high fantasy, it's not always highbrow, solemn, and reverent and I adore those moments—they're what made me fall in love with the series. While everyone in this sub is a Witcher fan, my usual pitch to the uninitiated is: if Harry Potter and Game of Thrones had a Polish baby who was also somehow older than both of them, it would be The Witcher and, my god, you're going to love it. 9. When and where can folks catch new episodes of your podcast? New episodes of Breakfast in Beauclair release every other Thursday beginning 15 August 2019. Every episode is available with show notes and full episode transcripts at the "Listen" section of the website. The podcast is also available at the following platforms: Apple Podcasts Spotify Google Play and Stitcher. Keep the conversation going on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit at r/thehanza. 10. Is there anything else you'd like to say to the community? tl;dr, I made Witcher things for eyeballs and now also make Witcher things for ears. Community is truly the driving force behind Breakfast in Beauclair and I hope that you join us on our journey across The Continent. And let a girl know where she can get Super Fire 9000 Gwent Remixes See you down in the comments! Welcome to the hanza 🐓.

Preface: I am in no way a professional review writer, but am versed in several aspects of cinematography and a lover of the franchise. I have played the wild hunt and have finished both 'The Last Wish' and 'Blood of the Elves. Should you find this review fair and or interesting, share with friends to provide them with information into the series and how I judged my first viewing while beside someone who didn't make it out of white orchard in her first attempt at the wild hunt. The Witcher, as a TV series, is a masterpiece that shines beside the writings of any televised fantasy series. To begin, I have seen only to episode 5, the same as many review members have infamously been provided prior to it's release as well as watch them with attentive eyes. It begins with the introduction, description, and life of Cirila and Geralt from different points in time. This time dilation is not apparent whatsoever throughout the first episode and is instead used as a building block of Geralt's personality expertly portrayed by Henry Cavill. The characters neutrality and indifference to the world's views on what is evil and good is exemplified with a monologue perfectly delivered by Mr. Cavill in the dry, sullen, wise tone Geralt is known for. Many reviews stated that Mr. Cavill did an excellent job acting but was limited by the writing. I argue the opposite. The limitation of dialogue the character uses reflects how powerful each word that comes from his mouth is, similar to a Silent Bob character, and Mr. Cavill's excellent if not outstanding acting gave the power needed for such dialogue. A fault of the episode is, however, the established world building that already exists in the first episode. Upon first time viewing and having known where the Pontar is in the world as well as knowing the history of Nilfgaurd, the information provided in the first episode was easy for me to follow. This gives a nod to many viewers who have played the games and read the book, but falls flat for new comers. This is, however, a small oversight that is rewarded from multiple viewings. Many critics have judged harshly on the time bending nature of the series. This does not come apparent in full until episode 4, Of Banquets, Bastards, and Burials' and is only hinted at with a minor nod to King Radovid and his sister in episode 3, Betrayer Moon' when we see Yennifer, preformed with the highest marks thoughout the series by Anya Chalotta, pass by a child Prince Radovid and his sister. While a flaw in the eyes of many critics, this allows a Game of Thrones style story telling per the viewpoints of our three primary protagonists without the criticism many series receive of 'What about character [X] What happened to them. While even I myself had forgotten about the dragon queen in GoT and her addition at the end of episodes was off-putting and took my attention away as the series tried their hardest to remind me they existed. To instead write your series as The Witcher has is something I cannot recall being done before and avoids showing your characters through backstories, third party exposition, or dreadful flashbacks. The best part, it rewards viewers who wish to rewatch the series. New fans of the franchise can now go back to the first episode after watching episode 4 with a full knowledge of the information provided and see many character's sly remarks come back to bite them while also knowing the full story of other characters they know the full fates of. To avoid spoilers for the series, as I fear even writing the episodes names could do, I will not go into any further detail on what occurs beyond episode 1. Instead I will finish my review with something solid for each of the 4 possible viewers of this series; 1-The ones who have played the games: You'd do yourself amiss, a crime, and a disservice to not watch this series. With the knowledge you know of the world many critic reviews should not sway you from watching a wonderful rendition of the origin and growth of characters you have grown to love. 10/10 for you. 2-The ones who have read the books: An adaption of a book series is always a hit or miss. Avatar the last Airbender, the shining, the marvel franchise, and so many others will always come and go. The Witcher is one of the best. Each of the episodes follow stories told in 'The Last Wish' and to see it breathtakingly adapted by a cast, crew, and writing staff that obviously loves this series is a Holiday gift given to you by so many wonderful people. 15/10. 3-The fantasy genre lover: While the final season of GoT was entertaining, it felt to me like there was a lack of love provided and limitations done in its final season. This, hopefully, gives you more hope that a series can be done well when taken from novels. Although the new world may be strange to you, so was your first trip to Middle Earth. Don't focus too heavily on points of the world that confuse you at the start, pick up names and you'll be told who they are as the show progresses. It will also demand and hold your attention throughout the show while you learn about the world. 10/10 4-The run of the mill Netflix viewer: This is not to single you out by means of criticism, but I'd be amiss should I not include a review score for you. While the love of the series can sway many of the hardcore fans to love the series without question, there are points that may be frightening to the normal viewer. The shows reliance on established knowledge will be a tad annoying if someone is not there to explain it to you and the battles may be questionable as you are seemingly taken along for the ride. But do not let this dissway you from the series. It a binge-able series with plenty of action, romance, comedy, and excellent cinematography that will keep you watching with bated breath as you explore the world through the eyes of Geralt learning how the world works and how crual and outstanding it can be alongside him. Though names may come and go to you, each will be just as impactful as the next and the surprises will keep you waiting in suspense as the "Play next episode" button appears. I promise you, I couldn't press the play button fast enough. 9/10 I hope you all enjoy. Please, if you have any comments or reviews of your own please leave a comment below. Keep it civil, avoid spoilers until the new year (gotta give people time while stuck in the holiday chaos) and let us all raise our glass to The Witcher.

Waiting for anya movie reviews. In the Alayne Sample Chapter Roland Waynwood was macking hard on Alayne Stone (Sansa Stark. “Had we known such beauty awaited us at the Gates, we would have flown, ” Ser Roland said. Though his words were addressed to Myranda Royce, he smiled at Alayne as he said them. “To fly you would need wings, ” Randa replied, “and there are some knights here who might have a thing to say concerning that. ” “I look forward to a spirited discussion. ” Ser Roland swung down from his horse, turned to Alayne, and smiled. “I had heard that Lord Littlefingers daughter was fair of face and full of grace, but no one ever told me that she was a thief. ” “You wrong me, ser. I am no thief! ” Ser Roland placed his hand over his heart. “Then how do you explain this hole in my chest, from where you stole my heart? ” Later, while dancing with Sansa at the feast: After that Ser Roland Waynwood swept her up and made her laugh with mocking comments about half the other knights in the hall. So Roland, who is between 20 and 25 years old with no exact age given, was hitting on Alayne Stone pretty hard. So what? Roland Waynwood is the only son to Morton Waynwood, who is the eldest son to Anya Waynwood who is the Head of House Waynwood. Robb Stark, when discussing with Catelyn Stark, on who would be his heir should the Stark line be extinguished said it would follow through his great great aunt Jocelyn Stark who married Raymar Royce, who had 3 daughters the eldest of which married a Waynwood. Robb makes the point that having House Waynwood inherit Winterfell makes a lot less sense than having Jon be named his heir as a legitimized bastard. While we do need to leap 1 generation in House Waynwood to connect the logic, it's highly probable that the Waynwoods Robb was discussing are the ones listed in the Alayne sample chapter. With Jon never legitimized, Bran and Rickon believed dead, and Sansa MIA (officially) Winterfell is currently being claimed by Ramsay Bolton through his marriage to "Arya" Stark (actually Jeyne Poole. This means House Waynwood is incredible close to becoming the rightful inheritors to Winterfell, legally speaking. If Jeyne Poole were to die/be exposed as a fake, while Sansa is still MIA, then by all the laws of Westeros the inheritance legally passes to the Waynwoods as Stewards until/unless Sansa/Arya are discovered. Many believe that House Royce has sussed out that Alayne is really Sansa. Right when Sansa goes missing a pretty girl of the same age with the Tully look is taken in by Lysa Tully as her husbands recently discovered bastard? Not hard to connect the dots. Especially given Randa Royce's questioning of Alayne poking holes in her backstory (girl raised by the faith has no cares about the new High Septon but cares/knows about Jon Snow being made Lord Commander of the Night's Watch; Alayne being from Gulltown doesn't know/recognize any of the houses/locations around Gulltown, etc) The Royce's closest allies in the books have been the Waynwoods, always backing them, their closest allies. If the Royces discovered/highly suspect Alayne's true nature as Sansa Stark, then the Waynwoods probably know as well. Not only are they close allies, but the houses have inter-married. They are cousins. Harold Hardyng has the blood of the Royces, Waynwoods, Arryns, and Hardyngs in him. His claim to the Eryie as Sweetrobin's heir comes through his Arryn background, but the Waynwood and Royce blood is there through his great grandparents. More than just blood, Yohn Royce has been making the decisions regarding Harry's future, being the one to arrange his betrothal with Alayne/Sansa and the one to knight Harry following the squire's tourney. However Yohn seems to have poisoned Harry against Alayne, and Harry seems unaware that Alayne is Sansa. He also seems a little too dull witted and arrogant to keep the secret. In contrast, as the start of this post showed, Roland Waynwood is coming in hot and heavy with the moves on Alayne/Sansa. If she were just "Little Finger's Bastard" as Harry calls her, then he'd have no reason to chat her up over Randa Royce who is a much better strategic match. My theory is that the Royce-Waynwood scheme is to attain control over Winterfell and the Eyrie. The Eyrie will go to Sweetrobin who everyone expects to die. Even Sweetrobin says himself: I hate that Harry, ” Sweetrobin said when she was gone. “He calls me cousin, but hes just waiting for me to die so he can take the Eyrie. He thinks I dont know, but I do. ” I believe that Yohn Royce knows who Alayne really is, and wants to unite Sansa and Roland so that the inheritance of Winterfell is iron-clad. The Waynwoods get Winterfell, and Harold (with Yohn as his closest advisor) gets the Vale. With Yohn's only living son already married (and given Yohn's age, Andar is likely much much older than Sansa) the Waynwood's 20-25 year old heir is the best match Yohn could hope to make. I think he poisoned the well in Harry's heart for Alayne and kept Harry in the dark about what he believes is Alayne's true status so that he could expand his control by having Roland Waynwood put the moves on her instead. If Roland is able to successfully woo Sansa, there is an ideal match that will win Yohn control over Winterfell as well as the Eyrie through Harrold and Roland. Yohn is playing a subtle game to try and win control over both the Eyrie and the North. It should be noted here that Yohn is an enemy of both the Lannisters and the Tyrells. When the Lannisters killed Ned Yohn was forced to swear fealty to Joffrey. Later, his son (who swore fealty to Renly Baratheon against the Lannisters and joined his Rainbow Guard) was murdered by Loras Tyrell after Renly's death. Yohn also heavily lobbied Lysa to enter The War of the Five Kings on behalf of Robb Stark / Riverrun against the Lannisters. Little Finger, who is seen as a Lannister ally, is someone Yohn has been working tirelessly to uproot from the Vale for some time now. In Summation: Yohn Royce sees the Lannister/Tyrell Throne as the enemy, and Little Finger as an extension of the Lannister power. He is working a plan to seize control over the Eyrie and Winterfell in order to rally the two Kingdoms against the declining power of the Lannisters. By matching Roland with Sansa and raising himself/Harry to power over the Vale he has people allied with him to the rightful claim to a lot of power. The North would rally around Sansa (as he, and most, believe Rickon and Bran to be dead, and they hate the Boltons. The Vale would rally around Harry & the Royces. Yohn would have real power to do what he's been pushing to do since the end of book 1: go to war with the Lannisters and remove them from power. This, I believe, is Yohn's plan. Will it work? Probably not, as Little Finger will likely suss it out block any chance of a Roland/Sansa pairing. I can't see how Little Finger is going to allow/be convinced to let Sansa marry Roland no matter how much heat he puts into Sansa's knickers with his charms. Perhaps there is another part to Yohn's plan to discredit/remove Little Finger from Sansa's sphere of influence. Though I don't see what it is (revealing Little Finger's role in Ned's death would do it, but does Yohn even know anything about that. Regardless, this is Yohn's plan IMO. Probably a doomed plan, but his plan nonetheless.
